Flicking open your calendar and realising that it’s April means just one thing to many away-from-the-road riders – the Spring Classics are here with a vengeance. With the season openers already out of the way, it’s time to wheel out the big guns with the arrival of the Paris-Roubaix. But what about beyond the race? Isn’t there more to discover from a gravel rider’s perspective in this region? Filmmakers Bruno Keustermans and Frank Dewaele certainly think so and have just released their latest dollop of cinematic gravelly goodness.
What better way to introduce their film, than to do it in their own words “Our film 'Frontiers and beyond' is the result of a day exploring the borders of Belgium and France, and the legendary cobbles of Paris-Roubaix. We follow the journey of Bert Stephani, a photographer and Fujifilm ambassador who has found a deep connection to the essence of gravel biking. With a love for frontiers and a passion for capturing the beauty in imperfection, he shares his experiences of navigating mixed terrain and overcoming the challenges of the cobblestones of Wallers Arenberg. Along the way, he discovers the joy of meeting new people and hearing their stories, all while exploring the unique and stunning landscapes that gravel biking has to offer. Get ready to be inspired and join us as we follow Bert's story about gravel, cobbles, the art of photography and the beauty of imperfections.”
They even give us a bit of a behind the scenes glance with some ace B&W images
Now without further ado, the film itself.
