General News: Gravel blah blah

When you receive an Instagram message entitled gravel blah blah, it might be initially tempting to just ignore it, but actually it was much cleverer than we first thought. Read on to find out the details.

The organisers of the Dirty Boar gravel event recently got in touch with news of their latest project – Gravel Blah Blah. Rather than being a slightly cutting comment on the ubiquity of gravel riding, it turns out the Blah Blah part is actually a long distance route that they have put together, which goes from Brussels, via Liège to the Ardennes and finishes in the Haute Fagnes – very clever!

The press release said “Gravel Blah Blah is a way for us, gravel ride organisers, to say 'thank you" to you, the gravel riders. Because without your support, there would not be a gravel scene in Belgium. And what better way to do that then by creating an XL gravel route. Together with the colleagues of 666Gravel & Gravelride13 we combined the knowledge of our own areas. The result is a gravel route from Brussels to the highest point of Belgium (Signal de Botrange). And a little bit further if you want. So from Brussels via Liège, the Ardennes to the Hautes Fagnes (BLAH)

The route is designed to be self-supported and you can ride it whenever you like, however you like “There is no inscription fee, no goodies. Just good times and memories. You can always share your pictures with #gravelblahblah. That's quite enough blah blah!

You can find out more details, including a link to download the GPX file of the route here.

Sounds like a great route and a fantastic idea – good luck to everyone who takes part.
